Join us as 250+ kids at Our Tampines Hub created beautiful bookmarks across 4 unique weeks, from plantable seed paper to laminated flowers and origami designs. A heartwarming celebration of creativity and sustainability, right alongside your little ones.

The Workshop

Four Weeks of Creativity

Every single craft was made with real care for sustainability and our environment. Over four weeks at Our Tampines Hub, we had the joy of guiding 250+ kids through an eco-friendly bookmark-making journey, teaching them simple techniques while showing just how beautiful sustainable materials can be.

Week 1

Plantables Seed Paper

We kicked things off by combining plantable seed papers with recycled coffee pulp paper to create bookmarks your little ones designed themselves. The kids absolutely loved discovering that their bookmarks could be planted after use! Each one featured vibrant animals and characters straight from their own imaginations.

Week 2

Laminated Flowers

Week 2 turned our workshop into a little botanical studio. We combined real, pressed flowers with eco-friendly laminating sheets to create delicate, beautiful bookmarks. Parents and kids alike were amazed at how easily the laminating technique brought each flower to life โ€” and quite a few families came back just for this week!

Week 3 gave old magazines and scrap paper a whole new life through origami. The kids folded food-themed bookmarks โ€” from adorable pineapples to mischievous cats โ€” each bursting with its own personality. It was a lovely reminder that creativity doesn't need new materials, just a little imagination!

Our final week featured customised kueh-themed bookmarks, made with coloured paper crafted from recycled coffee pulp. With adorable kueh illustrations and matching sticker sets, the kids created delightful designs celebrating Singapore's much-loved local treats. Coffee grounds and pulp were given a whole new life as beautiful, functional bookmarks!

The Experience

Behind the Scenes

Each week, we prepared at least 10 samples to display on our tables and bring around during our walk-around sessions. Whenever curious parents and kids spotted the samples, most were keen to jump right in! Between our afternoon sessions (2pmโ€“6pm) and evening sessions (6pmโ€“10pm), we were happily kept busy guiding 50+ young creators, while our ticketing and membership team welcomed everyone in. It really was such a joy watching the kids get creative and seeing what they came up with!
